The Elementary Program (8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.) is an academic program that follows Maria Montessori's method and philosophy of education for six to twelve year olds and builds on the important foundation established in the Montessori Children's House. The core curriculum includes language, math, geometry, botany, zoology, geography, and history, as well as Spanish, music, art, physical education and computer studies (4th grade on). Multi-age classes are comprised of Lower Elementary (grades 1-3) and Upper Elementary (grades 4-6). Students participate in a one-week residential environmental education program called Nature's Classroom Institute that integrates classroom studies with practical experience. The fee for this program is included in tuition and during that week, the off-site program is the exclusive location for the elementary curriculum.
